Depuis trois générations, la famille Scherz préside aux destinées du Gstaad Palace, surplombant les Alpes bernoises. Elle allie sens de l’histoire – le décor de son night-club, le GreenGo, est demeuré inchangé depuis les années 70 –, approches contemporaines des soins holistiques, à une certaine fantaisie, en confiant par exemple longtemps son offre de restauration à l’ancien cuisinier de la famille royale thaïlandaise. Cette dernière couvre le répertoire transalpin, soigne les traditions helvétiques avec une fondue de maître, et signe bien entendu une partition de haute gastronomie. Chambres et suites maîtrisent le même art des échanges culturels, où l’identité montagnarde suisse rencontre un souci très britannique des matières nobles, des épaisses tentures réconfortantes aux motifs floraux. Pléthore d’activités sont proposées pour structurer son séjour, à son rythme et selon ses aspirations.
